GMail Review

Google can be a big part of people's lives, and e-mail is a big part. GMail is a major reason why many people have a Google account. GMail is Google's web-based e-mail service that provides you with over 7 GB of storage space for your e-mail. By having a GMail account, you also get easy access to many of Google's services including, Google Docs, Calendar, Blogger, FeedBurner, Google+, YouTube, and much more. GMail is nice because of its fast loading speed. Signing in and getting to your e-mails is really fast, and although e-mails may not be sent that fast, the other parts of GMail are very fast. Accessing your e-mail is very easy and simply requires you to sign in from mail.google.com or download the app on an iOS device. For Android, GMail is integrated right into your operating system, so you don't have to worry. GMail's web client is really nice with great ways to customize it through the use of GMail Labs and Themes, you can also make your own theme. Another great feature is the ability to access e-mails from other services such as Hotmail and Yahoo! and the ability to send e-mails from those accounts. This can be especially useful when migrating your e-mail accounts.
Pros:

  • 7 GB and increasing storage space
  • excellent web-client
  • easy access to other Google services
  • mobile access is easy
  • tweaking settings and importing other accounts and contacts is easy
  • integrated Google Talk client
  • excellent iOS Web App
Cons:
  • e-mails are not sent and received that fast
  • mobile phone may be needed to get account
  • doesn't work that well in Firefox and Internet Explorer

Overall, GMail is a really nice e-mail service, and that's why it is our favourite, and if you haven't checked it out yet, you should.
